Sue Crook
Circuit Safeguarding Co-ordinator
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Circuit Safeguarding Team work hard to help and support all of the churches in the circuit to ensure that every church is a safe and welcoming place for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. The CIRCUIT SAFEGUARDING POLICY provides the basis for this work and every effort is made to ensure we fulfil our legal duties and responsibilities and follow the guidelines provided by the Methodist Church.
This work involves the provision of regular training for new and existing workers. New workers with children, young people and vulnerable adults are required to complete Foundation Training, and those who continue to serve in this area are required to complete a Refresher Course every four years. Details of the next training events will be posted above.
It cannot be stressed too strongly the importance of this work. Every safeguarding concern brought to our attention relating to the work of the circuit will be investigated further and appropriate action will be taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all.
